Moving Closer ^_^

Ever since I've seen them perform live, I have been a huge fan of Never The Strangers. This local band made a lot of fans from their popular Close Up theme song, Moving Closer.  I was really amazed when I have seen this band played live. They have tons of really good songs. And Yes! I did have a copy of their album ^_^

For our first finished project for this year, my boyfriend and I did a cover of Moving Closer. Of course, it is not your typical cover song. We did a punk version of Moving Closer.

I admit it was indeed very hard for me, considering the fact that most punk songs have high-pitched voices. I did the vocal cover at his house since he has better equipment than me. I lost count on how many times I repeated the recording because I am not hitting the high range that he wanted. As for the guitars, my boyfriend made it sound heavier compared to the original in order to achieve the punk effect. Also, a guitar solo was added on the song outro. For the bass track, I recorded it at home using audacity and send him the file for him to mix and edit. He used Adobe Audition for recording, editing and mixing of the whole song. Just don't ask me what he used for the drums... I really do not know.. :D

To sum it all up, the combined output of our efforts really sound great in my opinion. And add the fact that we learned new stuffs about recording, mixing and editing. So here it is, uploaded via soundcloud. I'll update this blog once we're done processing the video :)

Starting the Year Right

As every year ends, many of us prepare New Year's Resolution. But the question is, will these resolutions make us a better person? Will these resolutions make our future brighter? Will these resolutions make you a happier person?

With these questions in mind, let us prepare a set of goals and plans for the year. Then we can check these from time to time if we are able to attain these goals and plans.

As for me, blogging is a part of my plans for the year. I want to enhance my writing skills since I am not always given an opportunity to do so. In this particular blog, I will post most of my thoughts, ideas, and other random stuff that I might encounter for the whole year of 2013. In the later part of the year, I can look back on my posts to get a glimpse of what I have done and achieved for the whole year.

So, how about you? Have you started putting those goals into action?
